In July 2018, two MTV Unplugged concerts with Udo Lindenberg were recorded in the Hamburger Kulturfabrik. ifbbw was commissioned as a service provider for the multi-day production to ensure the technical implementation of the video production.
Technical management, preview live direction and data backup
In addition to the technical management for the video production of the concerts, ifbbw supported the project by setting up several preview video directors. 13 Alexa cameras and 3 Sony Alpha 7 cameras were used for production. We set up a live control room on site for all cameras, in which the signals from the 16 cameras converged. The director Sven Haeusler was able to view all camera images live on site. This ensured that all cameras always recorded the required image for the later cut.
In addition, all camera signals were made available live for the spatially separated lighting design. Just like the director of the production, the lighting designers were always able to evaluate their work directly in the video image and make adjustments if necessary.
We were also responsible for the data management of all recordings on site and for this we had a digital imaging technician on site.
Alice Cooper and the prominence of the local German music scene
In addition to Udo Lindenberg, many other musicians were on site for the concert recording in Hamburg. Jan Delay, Andreas Bourani, Gentleman, Alice Cooper, Marteria, Maria Furtwängler and the Panikorchester support Udo Lindenberg with various songs on stage.
