Media production for Falling Walls Convention in Berlin
Together with our partners from the WECAP GmbH In November 2019 we completed the complete media production for the Falling Walls Convention in Berlin. Within the scope of production, we completed various live streams and produced short films.
For the events taking place at the same time Falling Walls Lab, Falling Walls Venture and Falling Walls Engage On November 8, 2019, we produced a live stream for each event. We also traveled to various events in Berlin that day with four editorially supervised mobile camera teams.
Film editing overnight for film presentations at the main conference
The material shot by the mobile camera teams was used for the cut A total of four films were used overnight. These films were used to present the previous day's events at the Falling Walls Conference on November 9th. We also played the films for viewers of the conference livestream.
To ensure the smooth running of production overnight, we set up a production office with seven editing stations. An eight-person team oversaw the four film edits during the night.
7-Camera Production: Falling Walls Conference Livestream
The next morning we continued with media production at the main conference, which took place in radial system in Berlin. The livestream of the Falling Walls Conference was produced as a mixed program on two stages throughout the day. We filled and bridged breaks in the stage program with moderated interviews. During the production on the main stage, a camera crane with a 9-meter boom was used, among other things. This provided the visual highlight of the livestream. Video On Demand of all live streams online the next day
The live stream records were carried out by a semi-automated Postproduction-process as Video On Demand (VOD) We have already implemented this process in our collaboration with WECAP GmbH in the re:publica This allows us to upload almost all livestream content as individual videos for each presentation online to our clients' social media accounts the next day. Even for large productions with multiple livestreams running simultaneously, such as Falling Walls, we can implement this process, despite the large volume of video material.
