re:publica livestream and media production

The re:publica in Berlin, we have been supporting our friends from Wecap for many years with the complete video production and the live stream the main stage. We also take care of the re:publica live streaming of all the side stages that are broadcast. Like the re:publica itself, the re:publica live stream has developed significantly in recent years. In 2010, a simple 3-camera live cut was transmitted in low resolution as a video stream.

In recent years we have used various special cameras to produce the main stage, creating much more spectacular images. A rail dolly in front of the stage, a crane camera and the remote-controlled black cam were used for the re:publica livestreaming. We also provide subtitles for the livestream for the hearing impaired. In 2017, all stages were interconnected for the first time. This meant that content from the side stages could be seamlessly broadcast live during breaks on the main stage. ifbbw also implemented the display of a locally available re:publica TV livestream on displays at the venue of Europe's most important internet and blogger conference in the Station Berlin.

The Institute for Image Movement is responsible for the technical planning and implementation of the 3-day live production, as well as for the entire data management of the recorded video content from all stages.
