Michael Wollny concert film for the 100 Years Bauhaus Festival
As part of the opening festival “100 Years bauhaus“ we realized an outstanding concert film production with the renowned jazz pianist Michael WollnyUnder the patronage of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, we initially produced a live stream for ArteConcert – in the highest technical and artistic quality.
High-quality livestream production for Arte Concert
director Thomas Janze led the live production, which used an elaborate camera setup: four Arri Alexa Amiras, two Alexa Minis, one Blackcam on railsDolly A remote head-mounted camera enabled intense close-ups without disturbing the intimate atmosphere of the concert. The result was an immersive audience experience that did justice to the avant-garde jazz character of the concert.
Post-production for the cinema experience
After the live broadcast, the ifbbw Institute for Image Movement took over the complete post production for the cinema screening. The team edited the concert material specifically for the big screen, adding high-quality 5.1 surround sound from the single-trackrecording and created a final DCP (Digital Cinema Package) version. A few days later, the concert experience thrilled audiences again—this time in cinema format.
